The thing about middle eastern or even western desserts for that matter is that they score a full 100 on presentation. So much so , that one keeps wondering how difficult the entire process may have been to make those tiny divine beauties. But once you deconstruct them or learn them , you would realise that most of them are way to easy to make, and oh yes they score a 100 on taste too.

In layman’s words or view, they are simple coconut ladoos topped with melted chocolate , garnished with pistachio nuts and served on an almond cookie base. And the taste is to die for. You will love , love them….who would have thought of this exotic dessert, which is an explosion of flavours and colours too.(Beige/white/Darkbrown/green top💁🏻). I made small tweaks here. Used Chocolate ganache instead of plain chocolate…Used coffee macarons , as they are made of almond flour and added cashew nuts as I didn’t have pistachios😭. Traditionally they are also served without cookies. Your take.

Go ahead and try these.

INGREDIENTS:

1. 1  cup desiccated coconut

2. 1 tbsp butter

3. 2 tbsp milkmaid OR (2 tbsp cream + 1/2 cup powdered sugar)

4. 12 small size cookies ( I used coffee flavoured macarons) You could use store bought .

5. 120 gms of Dark Chocolate Ganache

STEPS:

Prepare small coconut ladoos the size of your cookie base. Take Cream, sugar ,butter, coconut and mix in a deep pan. Easy peasy to make small roundels. Pop in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

Meanwhile prepare your chocolate ganache by melting 100gms of dark chocolate with 50gms of cream. Keep aside to cool to room temeprature

Keep your 12 cookie base ( small size, appx. dia of 1.25inch) ready on a serving dish

Take out the ladoos and place on the cookies.

Now pipe the top of the ladoos with the ganache

Finish it off with the garnish and cool for another 1 hour before diving into these.

Enjoy!!
